About Freetempmail — Free Temporary Email Without Signup

Why we built Freetempmail

We started Freetempmail in 2026 because we were tired of giving our real email to every signup form, free trial, and gated download. The existing alternatives — $4/month alias services that want yet another account — felt overkill for the 90% case of "I just need to read one verification email and never come back."

So we shipped the simplest possible version. A real inbox. No signup, no card, no captcha, no ads. The whole site is a static React app plus a single Cloudflare Worker. We charge nothing because there is nothing to charge for — the upstream mail providers are themselves free, and our operating cost is roughly one Cloudflare subscription per month.

What we believe

• Privacy is the default, not a premium feature. Your temporary mail is not a product to sell or profile.
• A working inbox should not require an account. The address lives in your browser. Closing the tab is the logout.
• Software should disappear. The best disposable email is one you forget you used.
• Honesty is non-negotiable. We publish what we collect, what we never see, and what we never do with your data — including website analytics.

Who runs this

Freetempmail is a small independent project built and maintained by Leo Liang. The code is open-source-shaped — single Worker, single repo. The operating cost is published above. The team is reachable at contact@freetempmail.com. We don't have a marketing department, a Discord, a Twitter account, or a roadmap. We have a Worker, a domain, and a commitment to keeping the service free.

How it works under the hood

1. You click Create temporary email. A Worker handler asks the upstream provider (mail.gw, duckmail.sbs, or mail.tm) for a fresh account.
2. The provider returns an address and a JWT. We store the JWT in your browser's localStorage. The Worker never sees it.
3. The inbox page polls the upstream every 5 seconds and renders new messages the moment they land.
4. You click Discard. The upstream deletes the account. No soft delete. No recovery. No archive.

What we will never do

• We will never run ad networks or advertising pixels on Freetempmail.
• We will never log the IP that connected to which temporary address.
• We will never sell inbox data, message contents, or temporary addresses.
• We will never require an account, an email, or a phone number to use the service.
• We will never launch a Pro tier that locks the features you already have behind a paywall.

What we do disclose

We use Google Analytics 4 for aggregate site usage (page views). It does not receive temporary email addresses or message contents. See our Privacy Policy for details.
