- A temporary email is a disposable address you can use to receive verification messages or sign up for services — without exposing your real inbox to spam, leaks, or tracking.
- Is Freetempmail free?
- Yes. Freetempmail is free. No signup, no card, no subscription, no trial expiry.
- How long does a temp mail inbox last?
- Your inbox lives in your browser session. Keep the tab open and it persists. Discard it whenever you want — one click, gone.
- Can I receive attachments?
- Yes. Freetempmail supports standard email attachments — files, receipts, confirmations, anything a real inbox handles.
- Is it safe to use for signups?

- Does Freetempmail store my IP address?
- No. We never log the IP that connects to which inbox. The token that links you to your address lives in your browser's localStorage — we never see it from the server. Combined with zero message storage on our side, the only record of your inbox is your own device.

- For signups, verifications, and throwaway accounts — yes. Freetempmail handles the one-time-password flow that most people reach for Gmail or Outlook when they don't want to use their primary address. It is not designed to replace a real inbox you check every day.
- Do you have a Chrome extension or mobile app?
- Freetempmail runs entirely in the browser. There is no Chrome extension to install and no mobile app to download — open the page, the inbox is ready. You can pin the tab or add it to your home screen as a PWA for one-tap access.
- Can I send mail from a temp mail address?
- No. Freetempmail is receive-only. The same way a PO box accepts mail but doesn't let you post letters, a temp mail inbox accepts verification codes but doesn't let you reply. This is intentional — it keeps the service free and prevents abuse.
- How long do messages stay in the inbox?
- For as long as your browser tab is open. Close the tab and the upstream provider expires the address on its own schedule (typically minutes to a few hours). Freetempmail itself stores nothing — if you need to keep a message, copy it out before you leave.
- Will Facebook, Discord, or social sites accept my temp mail address?
- Most accept Freetempmail addresses without issue. A small number of abuse-sensitive sites block known disposable domains; if one rejects your address, rotate to a different domain with "Try another address" — you'll get one of seven upstream providers, each with its own reputation.

How to choose a temporary email service
A temp mail service is only as good as the inbox it gives you. Most look identical on a search results page — but they differ on the four things that actually matter: inbox speed, message handling, what they log, and whether the address survives long enough to receive the email you opened it for.
What separates a good temp mail service
Three things. Real-time inbox — the page should reflect new mail in under ten seconds. The verification code always arrives right after you close the tab. No signup, no data — if a "temp mail" service asks for a phone number, a real email, or a captcha, it has already lost. Transparent retention — a service that says "messages are deleted after X" has thought about the problem. A service that says nothing hasn't.
How Freetempmail works
Click Create my inbox now. We ask one of our upstream mail providers — mail.gw, duckmail.sbs, or mail.tm — for a fresh account. The provider returns an address and a token. We store the token in your browser's localStorage. We start polling the inbox every five seconds. When a message lands, we render it and stop polling. The address is yours until you close the tab or click Discard.
What we don't collect
We don't read your messages. We never write down which IP opened which inbox — there's nothing to leak. We don't store message bodies — the messages live in the upstream provider and stream to your browser each time you open them. We don't run ads or ad networks. We don't sell inbox data. We use Google Analytics only for aggregate site traffic (page views and similar metrics); temporary addresses and mail contents are never sent to it. Full detail is on the Privacy Policy.
When not to use a temp address
Banking. Government. Healthcare. Anything where losing access to the inbox would lock you out. Primary social accounts where you need password recovery in six months. If a service refuses a temp address, it has abuse-prevention in place — respect that. The U.S. Federal Trade Commission warns that scammers "use email or text messages to try to steal your passwords, account numbers, or Social Security numbers" — which is exactly why accounts that matter deserve an inbox you control permanently, not a disposable one.
The infrastructure
Freetempmail runs entirely on Cloudflare's edge network. Frontend, server functions, polling, attachment sanitization — a single Cloudflare Worker. No shared origin. No third-party DNS. No third-party CDN. Pages render at the edge, in the region closest to you. That's why the inbox updates in seconds — and why there is no traditional hosting bill to pass on to you.
